The Schaumburg Park District’s Tribute Park at Volkening Lake commemorates and honors the memories, special events and achievements of Schaumburg residents and others who make a positive impact on the community.
This peaceful area serves as a lasting memory preserve and brings inspiration and a few smiles to all who visit. The tribute areas highlight the site’s natural beauty. Join the District in support of this project by purchasing a memorial pathway stone. The bricks are placed throughout walkways and walls of the park, and are a wonderful opportunity to give someone permanent recognition or commemorate a significant event.
Pathway stones, available in a variety of sizes, are permanently engraved with personalized messages in memory, recognition, or just for fun. The proceeds benefit the Schaumburg Park Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization.
The purchase of a pathway stone is not limited to memorials. Other uses and honors include:
- Milestone birthdays
- Graduations
- Marriage proposals
- Anniversaries
- Recognize a civic group
- Pet memories
Commemorative benches also are available.
The Tribute Park is part of the Volkening Lake Recreation Area, located adjacent to Schaumburg Road and Salem Drive. It has ample parking, is accessible and hosts a number of events and activities throughout the year.

Organization Recognition Area
A special area of Tribute Park is set aside for organizations to recognize achievements and membership. Organizations may as a whole purchase the largest available brick ($200 includes logo), and the area surrounding that brick will be reserved for individual purchase by members. Use it to recognize a current or past president, the culmination of a project, member achievements or longstanding individual commitment.
